New Here?

We’re so glad you’re considering a visit to Messiah Bible Church, a local congregation of believers united, encouraged, and challenged by our mutual faith and love in Jesus Christ, the final Prophet, Priest, and King! We are a place where we believe the people of our little “Jerusalem” of Western PA can be welcomed in, encouraged, and supported as they seek the Triune God’s will for their lives. We strive to bring the Gospel of Jesus to our neighbors, making a lasting impact on our town as we serve and love people in Jesus’s name, for His honor, and to His everlasting glory! By the grace of God, we look forward to growing as a church and seeing our community transformed by the power of Christ.

We look forward to seeing you at one of our Sunday morning services soon. Join us to meet new friends, be challenged by biblical teaching, and find a place where you can worship God in a meaningful fashion. We can’t wait to meet you!

FAQ

Have questions? We have the answers!

WHAT TYPE OF CHURCH ARE WE?

We are an independent Bible church made up of image bearers of God, sinners saved by God’s grace, from different walks of life. We were born radically depraved and unable to come to God in any way. This same God of Scripture foreknew us before the foundation of the world (and therefore before our births) and predestined us solely by the electing grace of God (not of any good works we’ve done), our sins having been definitively and totally covered, taken away by the substitutionary work of Jesus Christ on the cross and resultant glorious resurrection from the dead. Although each of us had gone astray and gone our own way in rebellion against our Maker, He mercifully and lovingly drew us to His Son for eternal life, and we couldn’t help but come at the result of His effectual calling. Because His Spirit regenerated us (making us “born again”), He has sealed us for a guaranteed redemption, and we know that He will ultimately cause us to persevere in the faith He has gifted us in His blessed Son, in whom we have true and final redemption, the forgiveness of all our sins! We strive to live unashamed of the Gospel of His grace and would love for you to come and celebrate it with us as well!

WHEN AND WHERE ARE THE SERVICES?

Lord’s Day Services are Sunday AM at Volz Funeral Home in downtown Zelienople at the following address: 114 W Spring St, Zelienople, PA 16063

Join us before the service for coffee and fellowship, with the official worship service beginning at 10:00 AM and running until about 11.30-11:45 AM.

Wednesday Bible Study and Prayer Meeting is held at the Pastor’s home and online. Contact pastor@mbcz.org for location information or the Google Meet link.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

We encourage people to come as they are and dress in what feels most comfortable. In other words, formal wear is optional; all that we ask is that modesty is afforded the proper rule when determining dress, so as not to provide a distraction for other congregants.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Parking

Parking is to the side of the building (paved and gravel lots) accessible from Clay St. with the front of the building/entrance facing Spring Street. Inside the front doors is the foyer.

Coffee

Grab a cup of coffee at our coffee station located against the left-side wall of the foyer.

Welcome Table

Bulletins with the order of service and other important information are on the welcome table in the center of the foyer. If this is your first time visiting, we would love for you to take one of our complimentary tumblers and pen on the table. Please grab a visitor card, complete it, and drop it in the offering box at the back of the chapel.

Extra Space for Children

To the left of the foyer is a room parents may utilize for children who need attended to more personally during the service.

Restrooms

The hallway to the left of the mantle in the foyer will lead you to two unisex restrooms.

Chapel/Sanctuary

To the right of the foyer is the chapel area where services are held.

Offering Box

The offering box is located on the side table in the back of the chapel by the foyer door. We do not pass offering plates.

WHAT IS A SERVICE LIKE?

Join us as we reverently and joyfully worship our God through prayer, singing, catechism, Bible reading, and expository preaching. Expository preaching is a style of preaching in which the text of Scripture is taught verse-by-verse, normally through a particular book of sacred Scripture, always seeking to take the teaching from the text itself and not using the text as a “springboard” to discuss the preacher’s individual opinions alone.

HOW CAN I GET CONNECTED?

We are all about connecting with God and each other! The best way is to attend Lord’s Day Services, get involved with our Wednesday Psalm Study and Prayer Meeting (virtual & in person), and get on our emailing list (email “pastor@mbcz.org” to get added and to request a Google Meet link to join the prayer meeting online).

WHAT ABOUT MY KIDS?

Integrated Service

We love people of all ages, including children. As an integrated church, we also understand that children need to be trained to sit through a worship service. Therefore, noises come with the territory and are not a distraction. Furthermore, we also know that sometimes children need to be corrected. We encourage parents to teach and discipline their children out of the chapel area as needed and then return with them to the worship service.

“Busy Bags”

We have “busy bags” with books for various reading levels, activity and coloring books, and crayons available for you to use during the service.

Play Area

For very young children (infants and toddlers) there is a play room available to the left of the foyer (parental supervision required).
